1. Can I still see my personal physician?
Yes. Our admission agreement explains the correspondent resident responsibilities relevant to this choice.
2. When can I have visitors?
Our home is your home. Residents may receive visitors at any time. For our our residents' safety and security, all visitors must check in at the reception office during regular business hours or at the main nurses' station at other times. Visitors must be courteous and respectful of the other residents in our home. Children are welcome and encouraged to visit.
3. What are meals like at The Anderson?
Meals at The Anderson provide choice, variety and good nutrition. Alternate choices of entrees, vegetables and desserts are offered. Beverages and snacks are available at all times. Residents may choose where they eat, either in the dining room or their rooms. Residents may keep food/snacks in their room as long as all food items are kept in a sealed container.
4. Can we bring our pet to visit?
Yes, friendly house trained pets are welcome in our facility. We request visitors to keep pets on a leash and not take them into the dining room out of respect for other residents.
5. Is smoking allowed?
The Anderson is a smoke-free facility. Residents and visitors are allowed to smoke in designated outside areas. Residents who can go independently to and from the smoking areas are permitted to do so.
6. Do you have a beautician?
Yes. The beautician is normally at the facility 3 days a week. The receptionist can schedule appointments for you. Payment for the beautician's service is expected at the time of service.
7. What should I bring with me?
To enhance the comfort of our residents stay, we recommend they bring such things as: comfortable clothing, favorite "brand name" personal care items, a television and/or a computer. We provide all residents with a bed, dresser, nightstand and bedside chair. You may bring a recliner as long as it is made from fire retardant materials and is washable.
8. What do rates include for Private Pay residents?
Our rates include room and board, cable television, newspapers, local phone calls, laundry, personal care items, incontinence products, and non-perscription medications. We do not itemize bills.
9. Do you accept Medicaid?
All of our beds are certified for Medicare and Medicaid. This means that residents do not have to move to another facility just because they have exhausted their funds and become ineligible for Medicare or Medicaid. Phone service for Medicare and Medicaid residents is provided for a nominal fee.
10. Can residents go out with family or friends?
Yes, residents may come and go as they please. The admission agreement explains when Medicare and Medicaid eligibility is negatively impacted by absences from the facility.
